Internal and external refurbishment of 19-bed rehabilitation ward including new reception area, nurses’ station and outdoor area.
The project provided for improved facilities to allow the patients to have a more comfortable and relaxing time during their stay at the hospital. Refurbishment works included new plumbing for IPS, LED lighting, data cabling to support new personal media screens, vinyl flooring, new ADL kitchen and refitted day room. End-of-life side rooms were opened up to provide balcony access to the courtyard area. The ward was then fully redecorated in dementia-friendly colours.
Works were programmed to be undertaken in the tight timespan provided whilst patients from Heron Ward were temporarily relocated to alternative accommodation.
